Vodafone gets slapped wrist over risqué ads

UK not yet ready for such naughtiness...

NEWS Vodafone has been censured for running a series of adverts with overtly sexual imagery. The ads featured couples engaged in a number of sexual acts, including one pair 'getting it on' on a car bonnet and another getting very physical on a stairwell. Vodafone's marketing message was to encourage couples to do all their flirting via SMS, so they can get straight down to business when they next meet up. However, the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) was unimpressed with the "Get the flirting over with before you get home" campaign and has ordered Vodafone to stop using such "gratuitous" and "explicit" images.
