NEWS Hutchison 3G UK, which now plans to launch its third-generation mobile network 3 in the UK next year, has entered a major retail partnership with Phones 4U. Handsets will be sold across all 325 shops in the UK run by Phones 4U, which is part of the Caudwell Group. Financial terms of the partnership have not been disclosed. Services will also be sold through Superdrug outlets - purchased by Hutchison 3G UK's parent company earlier this year - and other retail agreements are expected. This week Hutchison 3G announced pricing for handsets and service plans and pre-registration for 20,000 'founder' subscribers. The company had hoped to make available 3G services in Italy and the UK by the end of the year but both launches have been postponed.
