LogicaCMG wins Saudi messaging contract

Today SMS, tomorrow MMS, the day after tomorrow...

NEWS LogicaCMG has won a contract to provide messaging architecture to Saudi Telecom. Before merging, CMG and Logica both built up reputations for supplying SMS messaging infrastructure. The Saudi Telecom deal, despite more widespread competition in the market now, is a win also for more advanced MMS operator software. It allows for the downloading of ringtones and logos to the telco's eight million or so customers. No exact sum has been put on the contract though the company said it is worth several million euros. One product LogicaCMG is supplying, its Pre-delivery Service Agent, will allow 1,400 transactions per second, which is especially important for allowing millions of pre-paid customers to use services such as SNS TV voting.
