NEWS Mobile operator Orange has fixed a network outage that left some of its customers unable to make or receive calls between Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning.
Although there have been varying reports about the extent its network was affected by the fault, Orange maintains only around six per cent of its users were left without coverage.
An Orange spokeswoman told silicon.com a "small number" of customers were hit by the network failure which left them unable to use their phones between 3.43pm yesterday and 7.30am this morning.
Engineers and those of our suppliers established the cause of the fault and worked to restore normal service as soon as possible," she said. Orange is committed to offering the best customer service and we very much regret any inconvenience.
One customer, who wished to remain anonymous, told silicon.com she lost Orange coverage on Tuesday evening.
"It was really annoying because me and my flatmate both use Orange and we don't have a landline, so we couldn't make any calls," she said.
