NEWS The annual two-week outbreak of tennis fever is upon us and UK mobile phone operator 3 is attempting to cash in on Henmania with plans to screen Wimbledon action and coverage on customers' mobile phones.

Customers will be able to watch news, player interviews and match highlights from each day's play. Classic Wimbledon moments featuring popular players from the past such as John McEnroe, will also make up a 'Golden Highlights' package which can be downloaded.

The Wimbledon service from 3 will also include optional text alerts which will keep customers up to date with the latest scores from SW19.

News clips and player interviews will cost users 25p each and each daily highlights package will cost 50p.

Rob McCowen, marketing director of the All England Lawn Tennis Club, said: "One of the Club's objectives has always been to bring the excitement of Wimbledon to as wide an audience of fans as possible, be it on TV, radio, the internet and now video mobile.

Now we just have to hope Tim Henman can overcome his semi-final hoodoo and give the nation something to cheer about.
