Plans for rocket-propelled aircraft to race each other round a 3D racecourse in the sky have been launched by Peter Diamandis, the man behind the $10m X-Prize for suborbital space travel.

Some meatheads just don't get global warming, do they?

Gratuitous pollution from a 'sporting' event that nobody wants and nobody needs just doesn't make sense any more. If they really want to make it a proper sport, and push important frontiers at the same time, why not human powered aeroplane racing?

Ah well, with any luck Huricane Xaviera will come along and wreck the entire fleet while it's still on the ground.

So when do we get a suborbital grandstand, anyone know of an unwanted space station anywhere ?
