Mobile middleware has hit a major milestone, according to new research from IDC, generating more than $500m in revenue.
The mobile middleware market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of around 21 per cent until at least 2009, when the market is expected to grow to $1.4bn.
The market is benefiting from the increasing drive towards enterprise mobility, driven by enthusiasm for mobile email and other enterprise applications such as salesforce automation, IDC said.
According to recent research, nearly two-thirds of businesses are using mobile email.
