NTL and Virgin still chewing the takeover fat

Take your time, no rush...

NEWS

The on-off takeover of Virgin Mobile by NTL is still on the table, according to the mobile virtual network operator.

Virgin Mobile, which released a set of interim results showing users with a higher than expected average revenue per user (ARPU), said the pair were still negotiating a potential buyout.

Tom Alexander, Virgin Mobile's CEO, reiterated the company's commitment to a possible union. "Our discussions with NTL about a potential offer are ongoing and we will make further announcements about these in due course," he said.

Should NTL manage to swallow Virgin, the resulting company will be launched under the Virgin flag, making it the largest company to offer 'quadruple play' services - mobile, fixed line, broadband access and digital TV.
