The Cloud is spending €100m over the next two years to expand its wi-fi presence in Europe.
The wi-fi network wholesaler is currently in talks with more than 30 European cities, with Stuttgart and Karlkkrona in Sweden the latest cities to introduce citywide wi-fi networks with the company.

Ben van Dongen, managing director for metro wi-fi at The Cloud, said the company is now ready to build networks in any major European city and will focus its efforts on a range of cities, from the very small to the very large.
Van Dongen told silicon.com country-specific rates might be used, with EU countries offered different prices to non-EU countries. The cost to end users of the wi-fi service is expected to be around €20 per month.
Though The Cloud will focus on Europe over the next year, Van Dongen admitted the company may be interested in working to bring wi-fi to developing countries in the future.
The Cloud already hosts wi-fi services in 16 European cities, including Amsterdam and London.
