Missing vital emails while on the road has topped a list of worries for business travellers.
Two-thirds of respondents to a recent survey mentioned missing email as a fear. Other nightmares for travelling execs include traffic problems, drained mobile phone batteries, IT breakdowns and even finding a stain on their tie when meeting clients.
More than half of the 511 workers surveyed for BT Openzone said the amount of time they need to spend out of the office has increased over the past two years.

And when asked what their greatest concern would be when out of contact with the office, 42 per cent said it would be that they wouldn't be able to carry on working while on the move.
IT managers are also worried about being shown up in their absence. According to the research, 13 per cent of IT managers (compared to the average of 2 per cent) said they would be concerned a colleague might shine in their place if they were unable to work remotely.

These are really sad people for several reasons...
- most of the e-mail they are worrying about it really not as urgent or important as they delude themselves. (In the future this will be referred to as "Blackberry Fixation Syndrome" or BFS for short!)
- if it really is urgent and important the answer is called - THE TELEPHONE. A known technology that works pretty well everywhere.
- agree with previous commentor - "Out of office" is a pretty useful tool, since it lets you direct people to part 2 of my answer for those (few) things that really matter!
