It seems we're increasingly unable to get away from our gadgets - with many of us happily packing them for our holidays too.

Perhaps unsurprisingly just under three-quarters of respondents to a survey said they take their mobile phones on holiday with them. And for people under the age of 34, this figure rises to 92 per cent, according to Continental Research's 2008 Holiday Report.
Other common gadgets taken on holiday include digital cameras (66 per cent), MP3 player (27 per cent) and digital camcorders (13 per cent).
But perhaps more surprisingly, 10 per cent of those surveyed said they take their laptop on vacation, with the same proportion taking a games console with them.
But not everyone is attached by the hip to their gadgets, with 17 per cent saying they take no digital device on holiday with them. But for people under 34, this goes down to just four per cent.
Author of the report, Colin Shaddick, said younger people are often early adopters and based on the evidence of the survey, people are becoming less likely to go on holiday to escape their everyday life.
Other items named included GPS (four per cent) - presumably to find your way to your Tuscan villa - while one per cent admitted to taking their BlackBerry along with them.
Continental Research quizzed 684 people for the survey.

I take pretty much all of the above on holiday with me but none of it for keeping up with work. Cameras are for holiday snaps. Laptop to backup cameras and play music. Phone, well, to phone people and also it has an interface to my GPS unit which I use for tracking my cycling or skiing. Gadgets don't have to be for work, you know.

Ah yes. But what proportion of people who have a Blackberry take it along? Most of these sad cases, I would guess.
