The Met Office has announced a free video on demand weather service for mobiles.
The service will provide weather watchers with video updates via the Met Office's mobile portal, refreshed several times per day from the Met's Millbank studio.
Users can either stream the content directly to their phones or sign up for regular downloads of the video forecasts.
The Met Office has enlisted vendor Gorillabox for the service. Gorillabox will plan and manage the site and handle its advertising as well as encoding the video content from the Met.
The Met Office already offers weather widgets, giving users the latest weather forecasts and storm warnings on their desktop.
