O2: Keep your iPhone for two years

24 months later...

NEWS

O2, the only operator to offer the iPhone in the UK, has announced cheaper monthly iPhone tariffs from next month - but only for those willing to sign a two-year contract.

Both the 8GB and 16GB iPhones will be free on the 24-month deals, on monthly contracts of £34.26 and £44.05 respectively - or a total of £822.24 over two years for the 8GB device, and £1057.20 for the 16GB.

The two tariffs, which will be available from 3 April, include visual voicemail, unlimited UK data and unlimited access to more than 9,500 wi-fi hotspots from The Cloud and BT Openzone. The current 18-month iPhone tariffs remain unchanged.

More than a million iPhones have been sold in the UK to date, according to the operator.

Wouldn't anyone on an 18 or 24 month contract be annoyed when a new model comes out ever 12 months, I would.
