NEWS

The mobile operator 3 is to reinstate its roaming surcharges, just as rival Vodafone drops its equivalent charges for the summer.

Subscribers to the '3 Like Home' tariff, which was first announced at the start of 2007, have been informed that the tariff will be discontinued after 30 June.

3 Like Home allowed subscribers to roam across all of 3's networks without incurring any charges above their bundled minutes and texts.

The operator has offered no explanation as to why the roaming charges are being reinstated, other than to note that 3 Like Home's discontinuation will coincide with the latest cut in maximum roaming rates, as mandated by the European Commission.
