Dopplr purchase making inroads into online services

Nokia has bought a social network for travellers.

The Dopplr service aims to connect travellers who want to meet up with fellow travellers along their route.

The amount of money involved in the deal has not been disclosed.

The Dopplr team will be incorporated into Nokia's Services unit, according to Nokia. The current service, which runs on the desktop and platforms including the iPhone, Flickr and Twitter, will remain unchanged under the deal.
