Phones 4u has confirmed it will start selling Apple's iPhone this year.
The retailer announced yesterday it will begin selling the iPhone before Christmas in stores across the UK and via its website.
The iPhone will be available to Phones 4u customers with an O2 or Orange contract.
The deal puts an end to Carphone Warehouse's hold on the device - since the launch of the iPhone in 2007, Carphone Warehouse was the only independent mobile retailer to carry the Apple handset.

The news follows Apple's decision last month not to renew a two-year exclusivity deal with operator O2, previously the only network to carry the iPhone.
Instead, Orange and Vodafone will join O2 in selling the device this year. However, Phones 4u has not announced any plans to sell the iPhone on Vodafone's network.
Worldwide sales of the iPhone reached 5.4 million in the second quarter of 2009, according to research firm Gartner - year-on-year growth of 509 per cent.
The iPhone holds around 13 per cent of the smartphone market, according to the analyst.

Yes, but WILL THE PRICE GO DOWN?
Because currently it is 200% of what it should cost.
