NEWS The US House of Representatives has approved the Internet Tax Freedom Act, which calls for a three-year ban on online trading taxation. Supporters of the bill argue that taxation of Internet trade will discourage the global trend towards ecommerce. It suggests that all state and local taxation in the US should be held off for at least three years. The Bill will now go the full Senate for approval and then to President Clinton for a final sign off. The EU is considering similar proposals but a European model is yet to be finalised.
