In brief: The ISP who fell to Earth

NEWS Recording artist, David Bowie, is to launch himself as a virtual Internet Service Provider. Fans will be able to log on to his Web site and then break out into the rest of the Internet. The service will launch in August and will be managed by Concentric Network, a Californian Web host services provider. Unfortunately for Bowie fans in Europe, the service only reaches the US. It will cost $19 per month and will give subscribers access to rare recorded material and other Bowie memorabilia.
