NEWS In brief: AT&T picks up £40m communications contract Countrywide Home Loans has awarded a contract to AT&T worth £40m over three years for its OneNet service. The US telco will improve internal and external communications networks to the mortgage lender's business and consumer customers. One area to be improved is Countrywide's call centre, which will automatically route callers from a freephone number to their local branch. AT&T will also provide high-speed data connection between all of Countrywide's 550 offices. OneNet packages toll-free services, audio-teleconferenceing and frame relay services.
