By Dominic Maher, 20 July 1998 10:50

NEWS The task of raising £50m for UK start-up Video Networks has been taken up by, amongst others, Lord Owen and Sir David Alliance. The fundraising aims to help the company forge an alliance with BT to deliver video-on-demand across the UK. Video Networks is currently involved in trials with Kingston Communications, a council-owned telecoms provider in Hull, Humberside. The trials will be extended after the fundraising is complete.
