NEWS Energis, a UK-based telecoms company, has signed an agreement with three major European telcos. It will work with Telenor of Norway, Telecom Italia and Tele Danmark. The company said its latest agreements will help strengthen it against its competition and give it direct access to the Italian and Scandinavian markets. Energis already has a number of similar agreements where it connects traffic to the fibre networks' of other operators in countries including the Netherlands and the US. And Colin Jenkins, head of international and regulatory affairs at Energis, said: "We have made agreements with Norway, Denmark and Italy because they are the next level in Europe to develop and we have customer orders to fill. Our customers expect us to be competitive in these countries." He added: "We have two more partnerships in the pipeline, where we also have orders, in Austria and Switzerland."
