Fishmeal company increases Web portfolio

NEWS Zapata - a fishmeal and sausage skin manufacturer - continued its Internet expansion yesterday with the purchase of Attitude Network. In July it announced its intention to use money from its fish business to buy Web sites. It plans to use them to create a portal site - at zap.com - to rival similar offerings from Yahoo and Netscape. So far, the company has snapped up 28 sites. These are divided up into various sections - culture, chat rooms, areas for women and Spanish speakers, software and a business directory. No financial details of the deal have been released.
