In brief: Symbian gets EC go ahead

NEWS Symbian, the joint venture between Ericsson, Motorola, Nokia and Psion Software, has been given the go ahead from the EC. Symbian claims it will drive the convergence of mobile computing and wireless technology, enabling Internet access and messaging in pocket-sized devices. The alliance was also formed to promote standards for mobile wireless operating systems.
