IT system puts strain on CompUSA revenue

NEWS CompUSA posted a loss of $51.4m, compared to a profit of $22.9m for the same period last year, despite a 3 per cent increase in sales. The company blamed a one-off charge of $34m for upgrading its IT systems, as well as weak sales in the computer market, for its poor performance. It also predicted poor results for the current quarter because of the lower average selling price of PCs.
