NEWS The EU competition commissioner, Karel Van Miert, is to investigate seven telcos over the high cost of foreign calls. The investigation will concentrate on Telecom Eireann, Telecom Italia, Telecom Portugal, OTE of Greece, Post & Telecom of Austria; Postes et Telecomminications of Luxembourg and Sonera of Finland. The EU will focus on the interconnection tariffs between telcos.
