In brief: Regulator deals blow to Deutsche Telekom

NEWS The German regulatory authority, RTP has told Deutsche Telekom (DT) that it cannot charge potential competitors a higher price for connection to its network. RTP ruled that even though DT's competitors will resell the network instead of operating their own, the telco must charge the average fee set by the Government last autumn. Although the ruling relates to a specific case with ID Switch, other telecom companies will welcome the news as German law currently permits DT to charge a higher price to resellers.
