NEWS NTL is to set up an interactive cable TV service based on tried and tested Web offerings. The project will receive £25m investment over the next two years. The UK cable company plans to adapt home banking and shopping sites from the Internet, rather than developing new software for TV interactivity. The strategy will require simplifying Web interfaces for easy viewing on a digital television. NTL will launch its digital service next year. The company has not yet disclosed which retailers will be featured on it.
