In brief: Ericsson buys ACC

NEWS Ericsson has bought data networking specialist Advanced Computer Communications (ACC) from Newbridge for £285m as part of a strategy to move into the Internet products market. The company plans to buy a number of Internet technology companies, and its ACC acquisition is the first of these. The Swedish telco said it wants to become a leader in the data and telecoms markets. ACC will help it capture a part of the carrier-class remote access market.
