In brief: Videoconference shows green benefits

NEWS The world's first paid-for videoconference linking thirty sites around the world is taking place on 28 September. Organised by environmental magazine Tomorrow and BT it will link more than 600 delegates from nine different countries. Participants include environmentalist Jonathan Porritt and chairman of managing directors at Shell, Mark Moody-Stuart. It is the first conference with entirely fee-paying delegates and is designed to show the potential savings in terms of environmental damage, time and money of videoconferencing. The subject of the debate is corporate responsibility.
