Gordon Brown opens Net name-and-shame list for retailers

NEWS The UK Treasury Internet site is to launch a price chart for retail products. According to Chancellor Gordon Brown consumers will be able to visit the site to find out the best and the worst prices from supermarkets, electrical shops, clothes stores and music shops. The Chancellor hopes the scheme will reward high street shops with the lowest prices and force retailers who overcharge to cut their prices. The list can be found at www.hm-treasury.gov.uk.
