NEWS British Interactive Broadcasting is re-branding itself 'Open'. The television home shopping and banking service - whose four shareholders are BskyB, BT, Midland Bank and the electronics group Matsushita - hopes the new name will promote its open-all-hours image. Details of the retailers who have provisionally agreed to offer services with Open are also due to be released shortly. Initial reports indicate that in addition to Midland Bank and Matsushita, Great Universal Stores has signed up. Open plans to run a promotional service on Sky Digital by the end of this year and offer interactive services by next spring. The organisation also hopes to offer its services over other networks in the future.
