Energis enjoys strong six months

NEWS Long distance telco, Energis has released strong results for the first six months of the year. The results are yet another indicator that relatively new entrants to the UK telecoms market are beginning to eat into BT's dominance. The company reported an increase in turnover of 76 per cent and a halving of its pre-tax loss to £16.2m. Chief executive, Mike Grabiner also announced the signing of DHL as a new customer. Other customers gained during the six month period included Ernst & Young, Going Places, the Inland Revenue, Northern Rock and Sun Life of Canada.
