Telebusiness crucial to success says Energis survey

NEWS Senior business executives in the UK don't like being left hanging on the telephone. Worse still, they tend to vote with their corporate wallets if suppliers fail to return calls. Those are just two findings of a recent poll commissioned by business telco Energis. According to the Energis Business Issues Poll, conducted by the Survey Shop, younger and older executives are less tolerant of poor service. This is especially the case for executives from companies with an annual turnover in excess of £500m. Geoffrey Cheetham, marketing director at Energis, called customer service "the single biggest issue facing business today", and emphasised the need to have a planned telebusiness strategy. However, although it doesn't take much for these executives to take their custom elsewhere, the survey did find younger respondents are most comfortable with interactive voice response and other types of answering services.
