NEWS The British School of Motoring (BSM) has launched a virtual reality interactive Web site to help UK learner drivers pass their theory test. The site - http://www.bsm.co.uk - provides information and advice for learners ranging from a 'Rough Guide to Cars' to details of how to become an instructor. The virtual theory test offers a random selection of all the possible 855 questions that could be asked in the real examination. Users can also get a driver's eye view of dangerous driving situations in a virtual reality town created with Superscape's Viscape software. Using real time video footage drivers are asked to spot potential hazards and answer questions. A percentage score is given at the end and helpful hints on what went wrong. BSM has also installed interactive computer areas at local centres nationwide to give learners free access to the two online training programmes.
