Cellnet struggles to keep up with Asda demand

NEWS Following revelations that Fujitsu stepped back from a deal to supply Tesco with laptops because it would not be able meet predicted demand, Cellnet has run into trouble in a deal to supply Asda with its U and Easylife mobile handsets. The carrier has been unable to keep up with demand from shoppers and the retailer is now in talks with One2One according to reports in the Financial Times. A spokesman for Asda confirmed it was currently "chatting with One2One" with a view to selling its pre-paid handsets. "We are eagerly awaiting each new delivery of Cellnet's handsets and demand has outstripped expectations," he added. "We would sell many more phones if we had more stock."
