Excite email failure blamed on Software.com

NEWS Messaging software vendor, Software.com has been blamed for the failure of Excite's free email system, which has suffered outages and slowdowns in the US over the last week and seen several thousand users unable to log into their email accounts. In a statement, Excite claimed the slowdown was a result of scalability problems since the company began to port its US users onto Software.com's InterMail carrier software. Excite signed a deal with Software.com in September, based on what InterMail claimed was its "ability to scale into millions of users" and its "proven performance in real-world deployments". A spokeswoman for Excite UK could not shed any light on the matter, saying it is purely a US problem.

I really need to get my email out of Excite and now I have not been able to get in to retreive some very important e-mail. I would like to get back in to Excite to retreive it. Everytime I go there it tells me that I am not a member and won't even let me get to find the reminder for my password which I forgot. Is there a way that I can find out how to get back into my e-mail under my original e-mail address, Sheila-berrys@excite.com
