BT GSS provides satellite network for Visa

NEWS Visa International Services Association has awarded a multimillion-pound contract to BT Global Satellite Services (BT GSS) for a worldwide satellite data network. BT GSS will initially install its VSat (very small aperture) terminal satellite network to cover Visa's existing 85 sites across central and Eastern Europe and Africa, but it will add and maintain new sites as the network grows. Visa claims the network will enable it to handle data payment processing quickly and cost-effectively for all its member banks. A spokesman said the selection was based upon VSat's robustness and ease of implementation.
