Netscape buyout faces anti-trust delay

NEWS AOL's takeover of Netscape will be delayed by a US government investigation, a Netscape senior executive has revealed. Barry Ariko, chief operating officer of Netscape, claimed that the Microsoft anti-trust case has encouraged US regulators to scrutinise the deal more carefully, and said that it will not be finalised until March or April as a result. However, Ariko added that there is no reason to believe the $4.2bn deal will be blocked.
