UUNet suffers San Francisco outage

NEWS Worldwide ISP, (Internet service provider) UUNet was unable to supply some of its Silicon Valley customers with Net access, after heavy rain in the San Francisco area caused an outage at its regional and Palo Alto hubs. A spokeswoman for UUNet said: "We discovered a commercial power outage very quickly. The network was down from 7am PST, but we got the service up and running again within two hours." The number of customers affected is unknown.
