MCI WorldCom and EDS draw up $17bn deal

NEWS MCI WorldCom and EDS have signed a massive ten year outsourcing deal worth $17bn. As part of the deal EDS has acquired MCI Systemhouse for $1.65bn, effecting 13,000 MCI employees who will be moved to EDS. EDS will take over responsibility for MCI's application development and maintaining services. In the other direction EDS will hand over management of most of its global voice and data network to the telecoms giant - worth an estimated $7bn to MCI over the next decade.
