NEWS Telcos need a global business strategy to survive the post-deregulation market struggle, according to research company Analysys. Its latest survey - Global Turf Wars: Re-investing the Telecoms Operator for the Age of Global Competition - examines the level of convergence in the industry and the driving factors behind it. Tim Hills, author of the report, warned the war will "extend into the back yards of the national incumbents" and that they will find their markets under threat. The report is intended as a warning to new telcos entering Europe's deregulated market.
