NEWS US retail giant, Wal-Mart and online bookstore, Amazon.com have settled their long-running legal dispute. The world's largest retailer accused Amazon.com - and its partner site Drugstore.com - of stealing trade secrets by employing 15 former Wal-Mart staff. Wal-Mart said the employees were recruited to find out how its retail and distribution technology works. Amazon.com denied the claims. Under the terms of the settlement Amazon.com will move one ex-Wal-Mart employee from their current post in the information systems department. Eight other employees will be restricted from working in specific areas of the department but will keep their jobs. The deal also means any new information system staff who have previously worked at Wal-Mart will be restricted from doing the same work for at least a year.
