Misys seeks Net finance ally

NEWS Misys is seeking a partner to develop a Net-based financial service, according to reports in the Independent newspaper. Company chairman, Kevin Lomax, has reportedly approached a number of big names in the travel, transport and retail sectors, with a brief about setting up a one-stop shop offering investment and savings products over the Web. The deal could involve Misys providing the software backbone while its partner supplies the strong brand name needed to attract traffic. Many suppliers of financial services will be invited to offer products over the service, which will help to make it an electronic brokerage.
