WAN managers slow to converge

NEWS Less than 20 per cent of corporate WANs in Europe combine voice and data, according to a survey by IDC. The survey of 650 European WAN managers found that only 23 per cent pass voice traffic over their private WAN and a further 10 per cent subscribe to a voice virtual private network. It also found that leased line ISDN is still the most common method of transmitting data and connecting to the internet. IDC's annual WAN manager survey is due out in June.
