Teleglobe implements fibre optic network

NEWS Teleglobe Communications is starting the implementation of the first leg of the of its GlobeSystem European fibre optic ring network. Linking London, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Brussels, Antwerp and Paris, the company will be using advance dense wavelength-division multiplexing (DWDM) technology provided by French teleco, Alcatel. The Optinex 1640 DWDM claims to offer the first 400 Gbit optical network system to operate over terrestrial and submarine fibre optic cables.
