NEWS This year's Networks Telecom show in Birmingham will not suffer from the loss of major vendors, despite the absence of big names like 3Com, Madge Networks and Microsoft, according to show organiser, Justin Opie. Speaking at the show just before today's big kick-off, Opie insisted the losses were just a reflection of a changing market place. He said: "We've been here before where we've lost Novell, for instance, but they are back this year after a couple of years absence and supporting the show in a big way." Opie continued: "At the end of the day you can see everyone who is anyone in the voice and data market under one roof." This year's show, the 19th, sees nearly 500 exhibitors spread over four halls and the organisers are predicting that approximately 20,000 people will visit over the three days. * Silicon.com will be out in force at the show. If you have a view on one - or both - of the following, make your way to stand 19i102 between 1.30 and 2.30. Whether you're an exhibitor or just visiting the show today, we want to hear from you - and it's your big chance to get on TV! 1. When will your network carry voice and data together? 2. According to BlackBox, one in ten networks suffers a crash at least once a month. Is the networking industry guilty of complacency?
