NEWS Dixons Store Group announced a nine per cent jump in profits, as it unveiled its annual results
The group enjoyed revenues of £3.15bn for the year to 1 May, with profits of £237.1m. PC sales grew by 27 per cent on the previous year, with mobile phone sales increasing by 100 per cent.
Dixons predicted a good year ahead, with the float of part of its Freeserve Internet service provider, and increased efforts in the ecommerce arena. The company said it plans to create 3,000 jobs during the coming year.
