NEWS Fore Systems is offering Token Ring users the chance to upgrade to ATM by supplying free 25Mb and 155Mb ATM network cards. Working alongside Fibernet, the high-speed data networking company, Fore aims to assist companies with IBM Type 1 cabling networks make the switch to ATM. It claimed the move means networks can now be improved and given more bandwidth at no extra cost, leading to a gradual phasing out of Token Ring.
