NEWS Marks and Spencer has announced that it is planning to set up an ecommerce operation in time for Christmas. Users of the service will be able to purchase goods using M&S charge and debit cards - but not credit cards - according to the high street retailer. M&S refused to disclose what products it would be selling online, but claimed the decision confirms the company's commitment to customer service and fits in with its current retail strategy. M&S claims that its Web site - which is currently viewing only - attracts five million viewers per month.
