Home shopping enjoys market upturn

NEWS The Internet has prompted a major turnaround in the declining home shopping market, according to a report by research company, Verdict. Traditional high street stores like Tescos, Woolworths and Arcadia are seeking refuge in home shopping channels after being faced with online competition and waning customer loyalty, The report claims these companies are striking deals with catalogue firms to offer new channels to customers in an attempt to compete with the downwards pressure on price. Verdict cites the joint venture between catalogue company, Arcadia, and Littlewoods as an example of this pattern.
